Deep in a green valley inland from Hoi An, the brick temples of My Son were the religious heart of the Champa kingdom for centuries; today the sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This morning tour from Da Nang gets you there early, with about two hours to walk among the ruins with a local English-speaking guide and watch a traditional Apsara dance.
On the way back the day turns local: a hands-on rice paper workshop at a village house, where you try the craft yourself and snack on what you make, and then lunch cooked by another family nearby.
