Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge from Da Nang or Hoi An: what you see, what the cable-car ticket covers, children by height, and which departure to choose.

Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge are the most photographed day out from Da Nang: a long cable-car ride up into the mountains, a footbridge held up by two giant stone hands, and a hilltop French Village with gardens and an amusement park. This practical guide from the AmGo Travel team in Hanoi's Old Quarter explains what you see at the top, how the day runs, which departure time to choose, and what the ticket covers.

What you see at Ba Na Hills
A day at Ba Na Hills follows the cable cars up the mountain. On our tours the order is:
- Cable car to Dream Stream Station. The ride is on one of the most modern cable-car systems in Southeast Asia, with views back over the coastal city of Da Nang.
- The Golden Bridge. Right after the first cable car you reach the famous Golden Bridge, recognised by The Guardian as one of the world's most prominent pedestrian bridges for its unusual design.
- Le Jardin D'Amour and Linh Ung Pagoda. A series of nine flower gardens, and a calm pagoda on the mountain.
- The French Village. A second cable car takes you up to European-style streets with street music, statues, the Campanile, the Nine-Floor Goddess Shrine, the Tombstone Temple, carnival performances and the Square du Dôme.
- Lava Train and Moon Kingdom. The Lava Train runs from Sun Kingdom to newer photo spots such as Helios Waterfall, the Time Gate and the Moon Kingdom.
- Fantasy Park. An indoor amusement park with the Fairy Forest, Dinosaur Park, rides such as 5D Wild West, 4D Death Race and the Free-Fall Tower, and more than 90 free games.

What the ticket covers (and what it doesn't)
On our Ba Na Hills tours, the return cable-car ticket is included. It gives access to the Golden Bridge, Le Jardin D'Amour, Fantasy Park, the Moon Castle, the French Village and more.
Not included, and paid on the mountain if you want them: the Wax Statue Museum, the French Wine Cellar and its wine, the roller coaster, the climbing game, games with prizes and the 10D movie.
Children's prices go by height, not age: children from 1.0 to 1.39 m pay the child price, guests from 1.4 m pay the adult price, and children under 1 m travel free when sharing a seat and meals with their parents.
Which departure time should you choose?
We offer four ways to do Ba Na Hills from Da Nang or Hoi An, all with hotel pick-up and an English-speaking guide:
- Classic full day. Pick-up 7:30 to 8:00, buffet lunch on the mountain (or a cheaper option without lunch), cable car down at 15:00. Back around 17:00 to 17:30 in Da Nang or 17:30 to 18:00 in Hoi An. Available as a small group (1 to 12 guests) or a slightly cheaper medium group from Da Nang (1 to 22 guests).
- Late start. The same places with no early alarm: pick-up 10:00 to 10:30 in Da Nang or 9:00 to 9:30 in Hoi An, cable car down at 17:00.
- Afternoon plus Dragon Bridge. Pick-up 12:30 in Da Nang or 11:45 in Hoi An, the afternoon on the mountain, then a 15-minute photo stop at Da Nang's Dragon Bridge lit up over the Han River. No meal included.
- Da Nang highlights plus Ba Na. A long day that starts with the Lady Buddha on Monkey Mountain, the Marble Mountains and Am Phu Cave, a lunch of mi Quang noodles, then the Golden Bridge in the afternoon and the Dragon Bridge at night.
Our advice: choose the classic morning if you want the mountain before the midday crowds, the late start if you are on holiday and want to sleep in, and the afternoon tour if you want to see the Dragon Bridge lit up on the way back.

Tips for Ba Na Hills
- Bring a light jacket. The top of the mountain is noticeably cooler than Da Nang, and clouds can roll in.
- Wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking between the gardens, the village and the park.
- Go early for photos of the Golden Bridge before it gets busy.
- Bring cash or a card for the extras not included in the ticket.
- Avoid public holidays if you can; prices are higher and the mountain is busier.
