Mai Chau & Pu Luong
Mai Chau is situated in a rural valley with towering cliffs, a unique culture, and a relaxed atmosphere, and is just a three-hour drive from Hanoi. Spend the day exploring the local villages and cycling around the stunning green rice fields, and enjoy traditional Tai dances in the evening.
The limestone landscape of Pu Luong is an area of exceptional nature, culture, and high biodiversity that stretches from Mai Chau in the north to Cuc Phuong National Park in the southeast. It is blessed with rich forests, limestone mountains, beautiful rice terraces, and a breathtaking landscape.
Pu Luong is situated between the provinces of Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa, approximately 160 km southwest of Hanoi . It is a popular weekend getaway but sees relatively few foreign visitors. This makes for a nice change from the nearby and wildly popular Mai Chau .
Pu Luong Nature Reserve
Pu Luong Nature Reserve was established in 1999 to protect the biodiversity of the area. In the reserve, you will find a mix of pristine forests and cultivated rice terraces. It is a perfect landscape for trekking, and multi-day hikes are the most popular activity for this reason.
