Sapa Day Trek: Lao Chai – Ta Van Villages

  • Sapa
  • Excursion d'une journée
  • Petit groupe

A day on foot through the rice terraces of the Muong Hoa valley to the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, with meals included. Starts in Sapa: transport from Hanoi is not included.

Below Sapa town the land falls away into the Muong Hoa valley, where rice terraces step down the slopes towards the stream and the Hoang Lien Son mountains close the horizon.

This trek follows the valley to Lao Chai, a village of the Black H'mong, and on to Ta Van, where Black H'mong, Dzao and Dzay families live side by side. It is the classic Sapa walk: fields, footpaths, wooden houses and the everyday life of the valley.

Meals are included, so all you need to bring is a good pair of shoes.

  • Walk among the rice terraces of the Muong Hoa valley
  • Lao Chai, a village of the Black H'mong
  • Ta Van, home to Black H'mong, Dzao and Dzay families
  • Views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range
  • Meals included

Des moments inoubliables

  • The valley opens up

The moment the path leaves Sapa behind and the Muong Hoa valley spreads out below you, terraces stacked like steps all the way down to the stream.

  • Village paths

Walking between the houses of Lao Chai and Ta Van, past gardens, buffalo and the daily work of the families who farm these slopes.

Pourquoi nous aimons ce voyage

It is the walk that makes people fall for Sapa. No viewpoint or cable car shows the valley the way your own feet do: terrace after terrace, children on the paths, smoke rising from the houses of Lao Chai and Ta Van.
